- Sensor fusion. Quality of image, LiDAR, Thermal and RADAR images. Many applications now rely on data from sensing application. Most notable is autonomous vehicles, but also drones and satellites performing remote sensing. We are investigating this area.
- Safer plane landings. Nearly all civil aircraft ‘glide’ into landings at an angle of 3 degrees. During this landing, the plane needs to loose energy, speed and altitude as well steer to to the runway. Cross winds, tailups and ground issues can affect this landing causing ‘go arounds’. We are investigating factors leading to potential go arounds and mitigating factors ahead of time.
